FIREFIGHTERS in Leith have vowed to combat willful fire raising in the area.
Although activity in Leith is said to be down from last year, the problem of people starting fires deliberately is still causing the fire service concern.

Keith Dargo, station commander at McDonald Road and Marionville Stations, told the Leith Neighbourhood Partnership “a number of initiatives” would be launched this year in a bid to solve the problem.

Engaging young people was seen as one key tool, he said, as well as activities to alert them to the dangers of starting fires.
