Scientists unwrap chocolate project

SCIENTISTS have launched a five-year project aimed at safeguarding the world's chocolate supply by dissecting the genome of the cocoa bean.
A US Department of Agriculture team based in Miami, Florida, – funded by £5 million from confectioners Mars – hope their results will fight crop diseases and lead to better-tasting chocolate.
