Funding secures window into space

THE government has moved to help save of one of the UK's top astrophysics centres.
The University of Manchester said yesterday the decision by the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) to contribute towards funding Jodrell Bank secures its "medium and long-term future".

Jodrell Bank is one of these islands great intellectual resouces. Not only producing excellent grade science and people, it is one of the few centers that has an almost totally international feel to it. Many professors around the have had expereince of the UK accademic life through or at this center. Jodrell Bank is a true flag ship filled with locals and interantional professionals just getting on with their jobs. Solid.
