EDINBURGH'S director of education has praised a city school following a visit by Government inspectors.
Gillian Tee said Longstone Primary School's report was something the "whole school community" could be proud of.

Inspectors highlighted strengths including the school's success in encourag-ing confidence amongst pupils, its partnership with parents and its high quality support for pupils' social, emotional and learning needs.

Headteacher Irene Mirtle said: "I am really pleased that the hard work of the staff and pupils has been recognised."
