On a number of occasions i have asked representatives of our government why the new Forth crossing is to cost 10 times, after accounting for inflation, what the previous one cost & 100 times what the Norwegians can cut a tunnel for.

It seems I finally have an answer - it MUST, according to the Scotsman, be kickbacks & waste.
