NO-ONE more than the present writer knows the veneer of civilisation is exceedingly thin. You say: "Oh, Rab, how sorry for you we feel. So obviously beautiful and bright, and yet so miserable. If only you would lighten up."

Circulation figures seem a shame ,there is,at times the odd good article that has somehow managed to detach itself from Labour's backside
