WELL, the rich: have they gone yet? When I first heard the London Times was doing a story about me driving them abroad, I thought it an April Fool. After the story appeared in the Hootsmon on 1 April, my mates still thought it a was a wind-up.
Now I may be forced to flee to Abroadshire as the cruel persecution of writers continues in this country. Sit back, light your roll-ups, and I'll tell you how it began. It was the rich that started it, whingeing about how much local tax they'll have ...

I'm an artist, poor, but Scots-American who has always enjoyed the wit of Robert McNeil and find that it is only RIGHT that he should be proud to be Scottish. If you ask me, Ms. Hogel was being a wee bit too sensitive. Rab spends just as much time in print railing against the nature of those of us with Scots-blood as he does praising them...probably more. Actually, it's the neds he speaks out against the most. Rock On Rab

I'm back from re-reading the London Times article and the one R.McNeil wrote that supposedly upset Ms. Hogel. I must confess I cannot see what there is to cause offense, but then again I'm not RICH. I also don't see how it referred to Ms. Hogel in any way!?! Great publicity indeed and hopefully for our wonderful writer R. McNeil as well. Anyone who can cause such a fuss is truly a great writer and worth his weight in gold....so...go out and eat more pies Robert McNeil. You're worth every ounce or should I say...karat?!.
