HARRIET Harman, Labour's deputy leader, has complained of "double standards" towards prostitution
after a government-commissioned survey found men were far more equivocal than women about the selling of sex.

So, does that mean that women are a) for selling sex or b) not? Far from clear! Because then you get feminists like Harridan jumping up and down to legalise prostitution to protect "sex workers" etc. So which one is it?

I think I can guess but it implies another set of double standards which Harperson would not like to admit!

So, Ms Harman has noticed that men and women might {{GASP!}} have different views from each other! Shock! Horror! When will the madness end?

And was the survey concerned about the selling of sex by all sex industry workers? Male and female prostitutes? Gigolos? Or just women? Thus skewing the results?

I suspect the latter because people like Ms Harman quite like skewed results. As long as they are skewed in their favour...

I don't know about double standards but I do know we need a two pronged approach to prostitution.

1. We need to manage it properly for the safety of all concerned, to do that we must take the Dutch route of legalising it.

2. We must create a society where young women and young men don't feel they need to prostitute themselves in order to earn a decent living.

The second point is clearly a long term view and even when we achieve it there will still be those who wish to earn their living in the sex industry because they enjoy it and of course because there will always be a market for their services.

This might be hard for many people to accept but any other approach has been shown to be as much of a waste of time and resources as the so called 8 decade long war on drugs.

Should the police be asking the public to take note of kerbcrawlers’ registrations?
Yes, everyone should do their bit to fight crime.
No, it’s the police’s duty to police, not ours.
No, what if the wrong number is noted by mistake?
