MEN in the Capital are unaware of the true threat of prostate cancer, a new survey has found.
More than two-thirds of those questioned in Edinburgh underestimated by half the number diagnosed with the disease each year.

The study carried out by Everyman, the UK's leading male cancer campaign, interviewed more than 1000 men nationwide.

Of those who took part from Edinburgh, 82 per cent of participants thought that about 17,000 men or less were diagnosed each year, while the actual figure is 35,000.

Krista Eleftheriou, spokeswoman for the Everyman Male Cancer Campaign, said: "It's shocking that there is such ignorance about such a prolific disease.

"The number of men who die of prostate cancer every year is almost comparable to the number of women who die from breast cancer, yet it remains a taboo subject that is rarely spoken about."

The survey also revealed a lack of knowledge of the symptoms of prostate cancer across the UK, with only 13 per cent of British men feeling confident to name them.

Of course we are ignorant with regards our own health. It been all about womens health these last few years (hence why they generally live longer).

Do we care? Nah. As long as women get the benefit, men will always sacrafice thier health and well being for the sake of womens (and subsequent children).

It's natures way.

It is astonishing how many men spend much of their lives thinking much of that which is below the belt! However they then have many fears of being too small! Yet it is surprising that many will be killed because something below their belt just might not function properly and may be too big!
About 37,000 men get Prostate Cancer each year, 11,000 get Bladder Cancer, 6,700 get Kidney Cancer around 2-2,500 get testicular cancer and about 300 get pen*le cancer.
The main reason they are likely to die is firstly because they present with their symptoms below the belt and they are too cowardly to present with the symptoms until it's too late! Women are not such cowards and their survival rate is better!
The second major reason is that although the public spend many many £Millions on Cancer Research THERE ARE DRUGS THAT WORK but there is a Government policy of EUthenasia hidden behind QUANGOs who deny or overturn the prescription advice of the clinical experts and whilst they refuse cancer patients drugs - Political Correctness predicates they fund in vitro fertilisation for per verts, repair of self inflicted rectal damage by per verts, gender reassignment, breast inplant and astonishingly as quoted in The House of Lords Hansard the revelation by Lady Gardiner that the Health Service Nationally spends upwards of £300,000,000 on tattoo removal whilst criminal drug addicts are fully funded!

This is medieval barbarism - no less - the law abiding cancer patients langour unfunded as a Government policy - when does this become Murder?

May I challenge the Health Minister to explain how this can happen in these United Kingdoms which were, when his Government took over in 1997, the FOURTH largest Economy in the World & we only have Brown & Blair to thank for our position far down that scale today - unable to fund as many people with Sutent for instance as get it in The Argentine!

For information on Prostate Cancer perhaps we can help at www.KidneyCancer.com a couse I bel

Good job I'm not operating or you might have the wrong kidney removed!!

If you don't fix your prostate you may spend eternity prostrate sooner than you should!

Testicle Cancer may make a balls of your young life if you don't check and take symptoms seriousl - this is a major killer for men 15-35 'Check 'em Out'! 'Just Feel Better'!

NO NATURAL PROBLEM means you can pee 'Claret' so take the symptom seriously.

There's nothing Macho about being dead because you were too scared to check symptoms below the belt!

I KNOW - I'm alive 10 years on with Kidney Cancer!

Stay alive by taking symptoms seriously!

Regards,
Greg L-W.
