THIS is the Prince of Wales in the uniform of Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps.
The work goes on display at the Royal Society of Portrait Painters' Annual Exhibition later this month in London.

The artist, Neale Worley, was asked by the Prince to paint his portrait for the Army Air Corps after they met on a 2006 tour to Pakistan. Sittings took place at Balmoral.

Worley said: "I had to abandon my first canvas as it just wasn't working and so started a fresh one… I then battled with the painting for the next three months.

"Except for a few details which needed to be changed, the Army Air Corps were happy."

The painting is on show at the Mall Galleries from April 24.

So many medals for a man whose only warfare was conducted against his late wife, and perhaps a spat or two with his current one.
