LABOUR leadership hopeful Ed Miliband announced that the Scottish Parliament elections in May would be a "big priority" if he got the party's top job.
Speaking to the Evening News from the campaign trail, the MP for Doncaster North also praised the calibre of Edinburgh's Labour MPs and said the key reasons for the party's fall from power at the UK general elections was that voters had "lost a sense of what we stood for".

"The election next May are a big priority for me and certainly if I'm leader it's something I would be very engaged in but it would be led by (Scottish Labour leader] Iain Gray.

Oh really. I thought it was because the English electorate found out just what Labour stood for - corruption, expenses swindling and lying to the public and everyone else to distract them from what was actually intended and happening.

The only reason Labour held its vote in Scotland was the one-liner campaign "Only we can keep the Tories out - and you remember the damage they did last time"

It didn't matter that the voter couldn't remember "the damage" - creating a strong economy that Labour was able to squander, high employment, and a general sense of security.

OK, so the Tory government was tired at the end and lacked up and coming leadership but that is exactly the same problem as Labour now has. And the Tories needed to eb "rested" just as Labour now does.

It's just that Labour cannot accept the will of the people; it is convinced that it can fool all of them all of the time. But it can't.

Ian Gray, now there is a very good reason for never voting Labour again, even amongst the incompetents he has been promoted way above his capabilities,as for Ed he's just another clone mouthing the usual platitudes,is this really the best labour has to offer.

Iain Gray and Andy Kerr are two of the best SNP vote getters there is. Let's hope they stay in power till May and get as much coverage as they want.

Only a complete fool would think that those two light weights could do a better job than Salmond and Swinney.

Labour were trusted with beating off the Tory challenge last May.....and FAILED MISERABLY, they won't be trusted over Salmond's government to get Scotland through this recession.

Scotland is such a priority for Labour that they prefer to never mention it!
