POLITICIANS from all parties have been urged to give their support to the cross-Forth hovercraft service.
Stagecoach this week halted all work on the Kirkcaldy-to-Leith link due to growing frustration that the project was becoming a "political football".

The Liberal Democrat transport spokeswoman Alison McInnes MSP said: "The delay to the hovercraft service is frustrating, especially given the hugely positive response to the trial in summer last year.

"I am disappointed that Stagecoach feels that the project has been used as a political football and I urge politicians from all parties to give their backing to a permanent hovercraft service across the Forth."

After the allegations in parliament by her leader she should realise the the SNP government must now make sure that everything is whiter than white. This will increase the time taken on many important decisions and slow down progress.
Unfortunately it is a position that we must accept if we are not going to have a perpetual series of committees investigating every action, phone call, car trip, etc of ministers and civil servants.
If she has ever watch the ongoing farce which is taking place into the Trump proposals with live coverage on internet she will recognise that in the interest of Scotland's reputation this is not something that we want repeated.

why the fuss? why do the SNP just do what the New Labour in the Central Belt and LieDems in Aberdeen have done and take the money, give the permissions and get on with it. after all it cannot be bad beause the previous "government" did it. better still to get the support give George F ( a maroon balloon) a bottle or three and he will eventually vote for it.

I'm not so sure about this new-fangled hovercraft thing. What's its carbon footprint, eh? You'd think the green Lib Dems would consider that. I've looked into it and one trip on it is the equivalent of smoking 19,500 cigarettes or eating 350 prize bullocks.

Why should I pay tax for well paid people to get subsidised so they can waste energy on an expensive wasteful form of transport - get the bus its cheaper and much less harmful to the atmosphere than a huge energy guzzling hovercraft.

If the Hovercraft flips over then they will want the Lifeboat to rescue the contents; and they want fishermen to volunteer for the lifeboats. But the British Government have given the fish to their EU partners/lovers and so all the fishermen are out of work or in court paying enormous fines. "Black fish"! It is going to take hunger to bring people to their senses, and that might not be far away.
