COMMONS leader Harriet Harman is the new favourite to replace Gordon Brown as Labour leader, according to Ladbrokes. The odds on Ms Harman, the party's deputy leader and minister for women and equality, have been cut to 3/1 from 5/1.
She has overtaken David Miliband, the Foreign Secretary, whose odds now stand at 7/2 .

By the way still no word on when the By-election will be called for Glenrothes - what is keeping Labour?
The antisipation is killing me
Rumour has it that Brown will do an non-campaign campaign in Glenrothes just before he calls the by election, that should be fun, watching him meet the 'real people' of Glenrothes

Haha, you really couldn't make this up. Why not go the whole way and appoint Homer Simpson - it's difficult to imagine he'd be more ineffective than her...

Where Brown is a talentless 'polictical heavyweight', she's simply a talentless political nobody.

She is my absolute favourite too. No doubt all Scots will warm to her and the momentum towards Independence will fade quietly into oblivion.
Or not.

I rather liked Joan Rivers view on equality of the sexes.

On TV she said, "F**k equality ... we did this to ourselves!"

Seems to me that New Labour is out of any talent these days. It's as bad as the smug and smarmy Tories! And the personality-free Libdumbs!

Is she not being investigated for not taking donations properly when she was standing for the position she now has, or did she face the no virtually guaranteed `not guilty enquiry, or review'?

Oh dear Lord no! But then again with that man hater at the helm NuLabour-Titanic will sink without trace...

PS - Anyone seen the pictures of Ed Balls as a German (WWII) Officer in the papers today?

Ihre Hände auf. Für Sie Herr Balls ist das Spiel vorbei.

Harman would be fantastic she's almost as despised as Brown.

The worry would be Hazel Blears - she's got more of a common touch.

Herr Harman in charge? An equality minister whose main remit is only for women? Very 1984-ish New Speak mince. If she's the "best" they've got to succeed Broon potentially, go for it, and look out for the iceberg!

#13 Hazel Blears hahahaha! Her main attribute seems to be to smile sweetly whilst being terminologically inexact... but still has all the required muppet qualities to be part of Broon's government.

Give the harpie the job as soon as is humanly possible. I doubt the Labour party will be able to come up with a more comical Leader if they try for another decade!

And let's face it, we could all do with a good laugh from Labour.

Ian Hislop had her right on the money!

Harriet (Trotsky) Harperson (to use the poliically correct form) . This is the woman who states that an ethnic minority interviewee should be given the job if there is a tie;typically anti White and anti-British. But of course her type just hates white British men.

Suitably encouraged, Labour extended its contempt for everything traditionally British to the Working Class, which actually adheres most naturally to traditional values, notwithstanding a temporary submergence under a tide of alcohol, drugs, Mediterranean holidays, and general self-indulgence.

Immigration, crime, a Third World health service, a gutter education system fit only to add to the queues of the unemployed and unemployable,a sabotaged manufacturing industry, and a Third World NHS, all hit working class people more than other groups, and became linked in the public mind with to the government's increasingly apparent dishonesty, corruption, and incompetence. Add to that a rocketing cost of living, and Labour's demise to the status of a minor party was inevitable.

Not that I would ever support labour again, but she is definitely the best chance they have got. She is one of the few that I am actually capable of listening to, and that is saying something. She is an excellent communicator and makes sense. Good for England - I don't want anythinig to do with them any more myself though - let them get on with it.

Harriet Harman is a extremist feminist who will in time destroy mens rights. If Labour where interested in equality then why haven't we got a MINISTER FOR MEN?
LABOUR HAVE TOTALLY LOST THE PLOT!!!

It gets worse. Harman you have to be kidding. Alan Johnstone is the only potential leader that looks decent.

Harman has been a complete failure as minister. Even Blair dropped her and she was a Blairite.
