A SENIOR Labour source has claimed that Alistair Darling will be voted out by his constituents at the next general election if he is not deselected first.
The Chancellor's expenses claims came under scrutiny for a second time yesterday after it was revealed he claimed back £1,400 of public money for an accountant to complete his tax returns.

It was previously revealed that the MP for Edinburgh South West has "flipped" his second home four times in as many years.

The source reportedly said: "I am amazed he is still in government. He should be deselected. Even if his local party is willing to forgive him, I don't think his constituents will. I can't see him surviving the general election."

But Labour group leader at Edinburgh City Council, Andrew Burns said there was "no prospect of him not being the Labour candidate at the next election".

Farky,

Rather vote for a donkey! 26/05/2009 10:42:23
I do hope the scottish electorate realise what rubbish they have been voting for all these years. Most Scottish Labour MP's have had their noses in the trough for far too long, serving themselves, and ONLY themsleves. Still can't believe how anyone could spend 18k on book cases.

Of course he will and it will have little to do with expense claims.

There is a small group of people in Scotland that will do anything to ensure that UK democracy is ended and it is they who will be blamed for another destructive Tory government in this country for the next 8 or so years.

Shame on you and hang your heads SNP and GNATites!!!!!

Which planet are you on?
Of course its the Labour Planet!
Think you'll find that support in Scotland for the SNP is NOT confined to a 'small group' of people
It has been Labour who has been instrumental in the own demise and it has been Labour who have worked against the democratic processes
A Tory government will happen REGARDLESS of which parties MP's are sent to Westminster. So plese stop churning out the same old tired Labour rhetoric, its boring, its passe and its well past its sell by date!
Wht will make tghe difference for Scotland is for Scotland to send as many SNP MP's to Westminster, at least they will stand up for Scotland
Returning any Libdem or Labour MP. will only result in precisely nothing as the unionist MP's from Scotland are devoid of any action to support Scotland, they will sit on there hands, passing the time of day!
40 plus SNP MP's will do nicely!

But why do they simply get away with simply possibly being voted out @ the next election?
Tere funds, both heritable & movable, should be sequestered to pay back ALL that had been fiddled & they do 'hard time' in prison!
