JIM Mather, the Holyrood enterprise minister, will not put his shares, currently worth around £350,000, into a "blind trust" despite concerns over a potential conflict of interest.
He will retain personal control of the shares, but will not trade them while an MSP.

What does Bill Wilson, the SNP's resident communist, make of all this casino capitalism?

I thought the SNP voters were against capitalism, the 'elite', the 'rich', the 'privileged', etc.

I have alot of time for Mather because he's bright and has lived in the real world - thats the private sector. Unlike so many Scottish politicians.

He's got a proper education none of this 'I have a degree in history/sociology/psychology from Stirling University' crap.

We should have realised by now that the new SNP adminstration is a breath of fresh air. They are positive unlike all the other parties who are negative.
If they promise something they deliver - just ask the police and the students. They don't spend thousands of pounds on cosmetic appearances like some party leaders, their principles can't be bought - if they take a fortune from a bus magnate their transport policy won't change.
If Mr Mather is sure he won't be compromised then who are we to dispute it?

Jim Mather is a good and respected minister. But if he thinks he can do this, he is off his head. Why is he the only minister in the UK that thinks that he can hang onto control of his shares?

He's just courting accusations of arrogance by this action - and I (like you) thought he was one of the more able SNP ministers.

#14... these pages are known to have SNP obsessives bringing every subject reported on round to them or anti other parties... Its just that people are now bored by it and it looks like people are reporting comments that are either rude or not relevant to the subject.
