800,000 apply to work in UK

NEARLY 800,000 Eastern European immigrants have applied to work in Britain since Poland and seven other ex-Soviet countries joined the European Union four years ago, new figures showed today.
The Home Office statistics did not include the self-employed – thought to include a large number of construction workers – nor those from Romania and Bulgaria, which joined the EU later.

Separate figures also showed the number of failed asylum seekers and dependants removed from Britain last year fell 26 per cent, to 13,595.

... and another couple of million are working without permits. Close the borders to these guys, Australia has the right idea. No wonder UK citizens get jobs, they're all gone to the immigrants who work for less money. Jobs supplied by companies that know they can get immigrants for less money, because immigrants are happier to live in slums.

I am not a racists, just sick of this coutry committing suicide.

@Rv3: Wow. If you cary yourself as eloquently as you type, I find it hard to believe you have difficulty finding employment. I think you'll find that immigrants aren't happy to live in slums, it's done as a matter of necessity. You may not consider yourself a 'racists', but you're attitudes are certainly racially ignorant. You may also take into consideration the thousands of able bodied Scots lazing around claimed thousands a year in benefits who're just to lazy to take the jobs, leaving them open for migrant workers. People like you anger me.
