Time for change in the criminal justice system
YESTERDAY, in the High Court in Edinburgh, John McGeechan was sentenced to life imprisonment for stabbing an Ayrshire shopkeeper to death. This appalling case is symptomatic of the current, creaking system of justice in Scotland.
