AS FAR as I am aware, there is no place on the face of the planet more expensive to buy a litre of fuel than rural Scotland.

The situation is out of hand, and I think few would deny that action is essential to moderate the massive price rises now ...

Re David Murray, Gordon Smith et al, the mindless minority who were responsible for all the trouble, would that be the 20,000 or so in Piccadily who through missiles, attacked police and generally ran riot!!!

Let me see, Scotland produces the oil and the English tax the bejeebers out of the gasoline. All in the name of saving the planet from greenhouse gases, of course.
If there was no English Parliament in our faces (with a Scots traitor as its PM) then there wouldn't be world record motor fuel prices in the Highlands.
Is this too simplistic or am I onto something?

#2, if you're the answer, it was a really stupid question!

As yet, none of the unionistas have ever told us why Scotland can't go it alone! We've already put the finance lie to bed, so I can only reckon that those who don't want to see Scotland free and self governing have an ulterior motive. Loud voices do not make policy. Loud voices however, tend to make the speaker stand out as either a unionist politician on the make or as a 'loyalist' moron.

Which one are you, #2?

SNP government should act on this rather than just gnash their teeth. Start with addressing 'Ripoff Scotland' and forget all the green pi*sh which will only exacerbate this problem.

I took a run on my motorbike last week and went the back raods to Inverness. The difference in fuel prices was staggering at different pumps. From £1.10 to £1.21 per litre. The prices are high enough without this kind of profiteering and outright theft. It's time feelings were made more obvious to the powers that be that this cannot go on. The prices of fuel, gas and electricity is becoming stupid.

The rapidly rising price of a barrel of crude oil is driving us inexorably towards a politico-economic crisis which the UK constitution may not survive.

The higher the price goes the more difficult it becomes for Scotland's economy to survive within the UK. Outside the UK control over our oil resources will enable us to regulate the price of fuel so that inflationary pressures are resisted and fuel-dependent economic activity is safeguarded.

By the time of the next UK and Scottish general elections the price of a barrel of crude oil may have reached the 200-dollar mark. At that price the Scottish economy will be in real trouble . . . just at the very moment in the political cycle when we can do something about it.

IF the SNP were who they say they were and really believed in what they say they would be taking up dear Wendy's challenge.
The truth is they hide behind Wendy's skirts and Gordons gaffs and have no backbone whatsoever.

So all you Scotsmen careful when you play your pipes the SNP are watching.
