Parents and teachers
Published Date:

Is it not time, in a bid to combat crime, that we revert to the old days when there is a closer relationship between parent and teacher, from nursery to teenage days.
If parents care for their children they will attend, at least, bimonthly evening meetings with teachers. That is not only to assess a child's progress in the education system, but also that person's behaviour.
Parents who fail to attend should explain why not through a visit from a representative of the school or the education authority.
Education and behaviour is not only a teacher problem, but very much a parent problem.
