Commentators have talked about a snap election since the Prime Minister took office. GREG ROSEN argues the contrary

"Had Wilson delayed until the spring of 1971, as he could have, he would probably have won"-Greg Rosen

Is that what Jim Callaghan believed in 1978?

Macavity knows that a tsunami of economic disasters will engulf this country in 2009. He also knows thgat if the Tories bring back Ken Clarke then the whole public opinion balance will slide the other way.

"defenestrating their leader"
Sounds painful, though Cameron probably deserves it. Brown & Darling too for that matter.

"the assistance Brown as UK Prime Minister has been able to give the Scottish economy"
I must have missed that. Perhaps he means Lurch Murphy, London's press release man in Scotland (or is that Gray?).

"The collapse of Iceland's banks"
Actually, Iceland's socio-econimic position is still far better than Scotland, with much higher living & social standards. Being tied into the UK, Scotland is getting dragged further into the worst global myre possible.

"Cameron and Osborne unveiled a north-south high-speed rail line (that stops short of Scotland)"
Tories have given up on Scotland? Someone better tell Annabelle.

The author should have highlighted that Scots thankfully have a nationalist option they can select, whereas down south folks only really have New Labour or Tory options. But the article is written from a Westminster village perspective.
