SUNDERLAND: Football jokers have mocked the town's greatest rivals, Newcastle United, with road signs.
One has an arrow pointing towards Tyneside reading: "Sid James' Park, the biggest stadium in the 'Fizzy Pop' league".

The other, on the road to Sunderland, says: "The Stadium of Light, the North East's only Premier League stadium."

Northamptonshire: Thieves slashed the side of a lorry to get to its load – of Sugar Puffs.

It was parked in a lay-by when it was broken into overnight. The side of the lorry was slashed and a quantity of the breakfast cereal – famed for its Honey Monster character – was stolen.
