A SCOT staked a massive £135,000 on England to win last night's World Cup qualifier – in order to net just £675.
The mystery punter placed the cash bet at Ladbrokes in Livingston ahead of last night's match against Andorra at Wembley.

At odds of 200-1 on, he was never going to make a fortune, but the bet paid off when England won 6-0 over opponents who are ranked 198 in the world.

Ladbrokes spokesman Robin Hutchison said: "I don't know what's less believable – a Scotsman backing England or someone risking £135,000 to win peanuts.

"This man is well known to staff and always goes in with a bag full of cash to place the most likely bets."

Profit is Profit, and I guess £675 per day in interest is better than the rates available from the bank.

One bet a week would earn £35,000 a year, a return of 26% (obviously assuming they all win).

If you can afford £135,000 spare cash in the first place.
