Born: 4 June, 1934, in Chicago. Died: 17 March, 2008, in Milwaukee, aged 73.
RICHARD Burke was the founder of the Trek Bicycle Corporation, which capitalised on the lustre of Lance Armstrong's victories in the Tour de France to reshape the way top-of-the-line bikes are manufactured.
