JACOBITE glasses, dating from 1750, have shattered pre-sale estimates after fetching prices in the high thousands at a recent auction.
The sale at Bonham's salerooms on Queen Street saw eager bidders push up the prices, with a small Jacobite wine glass, a single oak leaf and garter star sold to an anonymous telephone bidder for £12,600 – more than 12 times its low estimate.

A similar Jacobite wine glass sold for £7680 against a pre-sale estimate of £1200-£1500, while another made £4320.
