OVERWEIGHT people need to face up to reality to conquer obesity and live healthily, the Tories said today.
Launching plans for a "Responsibility Deal" on public health, shadow health secretary Andrew Lansley said it was time to "take away the excuses" so overweight people started looking after themselves.

Obese must face reality?It is on the way anyway.With rising prices and the inevitable shortages it will create.They will be slimming down whether they like it or not.It will be tough on those who are genuinely,medically obese. If the cap fits weare it, if not, ignore that remark.
Clinically obese folk devour an inordinate amount of the planets resources. Bull***t I hear you scream. Is it though? They seem to in many cases, produce nothing but problems to medical facilities,making really genuinely ill people suffer longer waits to be treated.Clothes take more materials etc.They take up huge amounts of room on aircraft inconveniencing others.Plus it takes more fossil fuels to transport a 150lb person than it does a 300lb one.Yet pay the same fare.Time for change, in this user pays world. It would be a real incentive to lose weight,if they had to pay for the extra blubber.

#6 Fairfax my comment on the weights was all ass about face. I realized that intelligent folk would understand the meaning behind it. Yep Liposuction would be good.As a bi-product, they could harvest all that excess skin and use it in transplants. A new business perhaps to make "billions for britain".Even sounds good. All the clothes they wouldn't fit could be recycled etc
