Pinter wins Nobel Prize for Literature

British playwright and human rights activist Harold Pinter has won the 2005 Nobel Prize for Literature.
The Swedish Academy's citation for the playwright said that Pinter "uncovers the precipice under everyday prattle and forces entry into oppression’s closed rooms"

The award for winning the prize is 10 million Swedish crowns (£1.28 million).
