AL GORE, right, is a front-runner for the Nobel Peace Prize, according to one research group.
The Nobel awards are to be announced this week. But Stein Toennesson, the director of the International Peace Research Institute in Oslo - which publishes a widely cited, well-founded and, he admits, usually wrong set of surmises - predicts that the former US vice-president is an appealing choice for the prize committee.
