CYCING hero Chris Hoy is expected to pick up a knighthood in the New Year's Honours List.
Whitehall sources have suggested that the Scottish cyclist, who is just 32 years old, is being put by the sporting advisory committee at No 10 after picking up three gold medals at this summer's Olympic Games.

It is unusual for sportsmen to be honoured by the Queen with a knighthood before they retire. However, Hoy has vowed to postpone that at least until after the 2014 Commonwealth Games. His fellow athlete Rebecca Adlington, 19, is also expected to be rewarded for her two swimming gold medals with an OBE.

Suggestions that veteran entertainer Bruce Forsyth will finally pick up a knighthood have still not been confirmed. The 80-year-old entertainer has been the subject of a massive internet campaign for a knighthood over the last few months.

Bookmaker William Hill is currently not accepting any more bets on Forsyth, while Ladbrokes is thought to be still offering 2/1 odds, potentially the shortest ever price for a potential knighthood.

Peoeple I reckon should get knighthoods...

1. Keith Richards -- For services to music and for putting up with Mick Jagger's vanity for over 40 years.
2. Jeremy Clarkson -- For services to the car industry and for having the balls to speak out against insane political correctness.
3. Boris Johnson -- For managing to make Ken Livingston look even more stupid than Boris pretends that he himself is.

Any more?

Hoy, that's a great schhhtory heading!

#1 I'm not sure if I know any "Peoeple", but Boris could rank as one! :ha!:

Jeremy Clarkson may have -penned- his last, after hitting Ian Hislop with that red exocet missile on Have I Got News for You.

Dr Blockbuster is backing Brucie, Bruce Forsyth, for his long overdue knighthood for his lifetime services to Entertainment! A lifetime achievement award, so to speak. We have 14,000 campaigners on Facebook.

As for Chris Hoy, his Olympic medals have been nothing less than Herculean, no pun intended!

We shall find out soon!
