VILLAGERS and forest guards have beaten a tiger to death after it killed three people at a village near the world's largest mangrove forest – the Sundarbans – in southwestern Bangladesh.
The tiger strayed into south Kadamtala village in Satkhira district late yesterday and killed three people. It came out of the forest and crossed a river to enter the area.

The big cat also chased and injured a fourth person after killing five goats in the area. The villagers and officials cordoned off the tiger overnight at a nearby garden and waited until morning to kill it.
