Thin end of the wedge. Someone has to define sexism or racism to operate such a system, and that can often be a political judgement. It's the start of political censorship. According to Professor Brown of Oxford University, the restrictions being proposed by the UK government for Internet control, are approaching those in Iran! Now film is to go the same way. Instead of an Ayatollah or senior cleric, we are to have devotees of political correctness and social engineering doing it for us. Not much difference apart from the language and dress!

Yet more PC Bulls**t.
Another nail in the coffin of freedom of expression.
A spokeswoman for the BBFC said discrimination had always been a concern , So now we have to put up with the censors discrimination against anything he or she does not like or approve of. Who will censor the censors?
BBFC director David Cooke said:
"They also represent the views of the majority of the public."
REALLY?
When were the public consulted and why was i discriminated against by not asking me?

We could have censorship grades such as unsuitable for sexually mature women, not suitable for persons with heavy tan, unsuitable for certain political parties. Could be offensive to vegetarians, may contain nuts.

Oh well that will rule out almost all action films then won't it? A few quotes:-
The Dirty Dozen:
Maj Reisman -- Any questions?
Maggot -- Do we have to eat with n*ggers?
Full Metal Jacket:
"You take the point"
"Put a n*gger behind the trigger!"
Apocolypse Now:
"Sure scares the sh*t out of the slopes!"
Or even lighter films...
Saturday Night Fever:
"Spics... F*****g greaseballs!"
It's about time that all this stupid censorship was itself censored. What gives these jumped up fools the right to tell me what I can watch?

The article shows the classifications containing the following riders:
"...unless clearly disapproved of."
"...unless clearly condemned."
"...must not endorse..."
When did the BBFC obtain the remit to determine morality or opinions to be held, and was this in the 'public consultation'?

Many of these 'public consultations' are only sent to organisations that support their views.

They should apply the same rules to TV adverts, then we may get rid of a few 'men are stupid' adverts.

We still dare to criticise China, Iran and other oppressive regimes for dictating to their populace what they are permitted to read, hear and say!
How long is it going to be before the British Government hires a "firewall" expert from China to ensure we are not able to access uncensored internet news deemed to be "inapropriate" by the state!
No wonder Brown is urging closer ties with China he needs their censorship technology!
