PENICUIK MSP Jeremy Purvis has paid tribute to local servicemen.
More than 300 returning soldiers from Glencorse Barracks marched through Penicuik to mark their return from a six-month tour of Afghanistan.

Mr Purvis said: "With such a warm response, and the attendance of the schools, I hope the troops within all ranks felt that they are at home in the town and that their dangerous and brave service is both recognised and appreciated."

Midlothian Provost Adam Montgomery took the salute outside Penicuik Town Hall from the Royal Highland Fusiliers, 2nd Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland, who have just returned from a tour in Helmand province and the capital Kabul.
