FIREFIGHTERS cut the roof from a car to help free the driver following a crash in Midlothian.
The accident happened just after 5pm last night, close to the Pentland Science Park at Bush Loan, and it is understood three cars were involved.

A spokeswoman for Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue service said ambulance staff had asked them to cut the roof from one of the cars, in order to give them as much space as possible to remove the injured man.

The man was understood to be complaining of back and neck injuries, and was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for a precautionary scan. It was not known whether anyone else was injured.
