New hope in Maddy hunt as calls flood in over photofit

INVESTIGATORS hunting missing Madeleine McCann will today begin following up calls from the public after a photofit of a man who may have abducted her was released.
The McCanns' spokesman, Clarence Mitchell, said dozens of calls had been received since the picture was released yesterday.
He said: "He is out there – now let's find him." He added Madeleine's parents Kate and Gerry were "buoyed" by the picture, but said Portuguese police had been told about the sighting of the man in May.
However, he refused to attack the way the inquiry had been run, saying: "I am not going to criticise the Portuguese police. We just want them to get on with the job of finding Madeleine."
A police artist drew two sketches of the man based on a statement given by a British holidaymaker who stayed in the same resort as the McCann family.
The man was seen acting suspiciously near the apartment block in the Algarve resort where Madeleine vanished last May.
