MINISTRY of Defence flags may cost £2.5m but aren't we missing the far, far bigger picture ('Anger at MoD plan to unfurl £2.m of new flags', June 29)? The waste of tens of billions of pounds on Trident II.
What happened to those Scottish Labour MPs like Jim Devine making noises just before the Holyrood election of 2007 – presumably as a gambit to keep in with voters rather than any serious effort at changing policy? Perhaps (and I am not holding my breath) the Labour leadership election in Scotland will force that party to address such issues properly.
