IT'S an absolute must owners keep their dogs under control as a record number of sheep were attacked by dogs in the Pentland Hills (Evening News, May 13).
It's very sad two lambs were seriously injured at a farm in the Pentlands and must be indeed distressing for farmer Graham Hamilton as two pregnant ewes were also attacked by dogs.

Owners walking their dogs in the Pentlands must ensure they are kept on a lead to prevent these sad attacks from happening to farm animals.

It's a good thing wardens and park rangers are to step up patrols in the Pentland Hills area and will be on the alert for dogs attacking farm animals.

Mrs June Fleming, Hercus Loan, Musselburgh, East Lothian

Grumpy,

But you'll still get dog owners moaning about farmers shooting their dogs - "my little pooch didn't mean to scare the sheep and kill them - he's so good with children! It's a disgrace that the farmer should shoot them just because they've mauled half a dozen sheep"

Me? Even though or dog is the best behaved dog ever, I still wouldn't trust it around sheep or alone in the room with a toddler.
