Your front-page photograph of children in the east of Glasgow (5 July), reminded me of the paintings of Glasgow children done by Joan Eardley in the Sixties.
Last summer's exhibition of her work at the National Gallery of Scotland contained examples of the photographs she took and used as her source material. Your picture could be mistaken for one of hers. It serves as a sorry reminder that, although years and generations have gone by, little has changed for some of our most vulnerable citizens in the last 50 years.
