Aberdeen has a fantastic resource on its doorstep in the form of the wonderful beaches and dunes stretching over 22 miles from Footdee north to Newburgh. With nearly a quarter of a million people visiting Balmedie Country Park each year, it is a very popular recreational venue. The main benefit of this resource is that people and their children regularly get out and walk, in all weathers, getting much-needed exercise and enjoying the fresh air and the amazing views.
Aberdeen City Council should consider what a huge benefit the area brings to the health and well-being of the city population, and ensure access to all areas of the beach and dunes is continued, and not taken away by the possible creation of a golf resort, as planned by Donald Trump.
