David Black (Debate & Opinion, 19 July) is to be congratulated on his excellent article, but his clarion call to the "sons and daughters of Edina" will fall, sadly, on deaf ears.
What did Robert Louis Stevenson say in Edinburgh (1878) of his fellow citizens? "Chartered tourists, they make free with historic localities, and rear their young among the most picturesque sites with a grand human indifference."
