Caesar was no emperor

Your report "Wrinkly bust of ageing emperor discovered" (14 May)
shows a picture of a bust of Caesar, dated to 46BC, and states it to be the oldest known of a Roman emperor.

Augustus, the first Roman emperor, was not proclaimed as such until the year 27BC. Julius Caesar was not a Roman emperor.
