That a Muslim police association is to be formed in Scotland (your report, 10 May) has caused a sharp intake of breath on the part of many Scots.
How can a Scottish Government that takes every opportunity to parade its commitment to harmonious community relations set up an organisation that highlights a clear-cut ethno-religious difference?

A Muslim police association in Scotland points to a country divided by race and religion and, more alarmingly, to the spread of Islam in the wider European context.
