SO HALF of Scots want a Scottish six o'clock news – and roughly half aren't bothered.
The Scottish Broadcasting Commission's findings seem curiously out of step with the public mood of unfettered enthusiasm for all things Scottish. Maybe that's a tribute to the quality of BBC network news – or a comment on the preoccupation with crime...

Should we worry? We are told that nothing will happen until 2016. Many of us will be dead and buried by then.

I don't watch much TV anymore, and I mostly rely on the internet for news.(Not the Scotsman website of course :-))
Therefore I remain blissfully ignorant of how the English cricket team are doing, the chances of Engerland winning the next World Cup(I believe they last won it in 1966, though I will have to watch the next England game just to be sure.It will bound to be mentioned in the first five minutes.)

And then there is the Royal family...
