Companies like DIAGEO surely can never ask for loyalty from their employees ever again. Actions like this are eating away at the motivation and spirit of British workers. How sad that DIAGEO places no importance on their history. Their actions are so robotic. As soon as the going gets tough these companies get going.... leaving devastation behind them and only directors fat pay packets on their minds. True, business is not charity, but this recession is particularly deep and damaging. If everyone bails out at the first sign of trouble what hope do we have? Business is part of society and as such it has a part to play. It cannot be all take and no give.

My household will be taking a little stand of our own on this. If DIAGEO does go ahead our household will buoycot all DIAGEO products. My husband has all of the Johnny Walker Whiskys lined up in our drinks cabinet. Once they're gone they're gone and will not be replaced!
