THIS week Glasgow played host to the 59th International Astronautical Congress. Some 2,000 astronauts, rocket scientists and Nasa bureaucrats gathered together to discuss the future of space travel.
There were no recorded delegates from Mars or Alpha Centauri, but, for a few days at least, Glasgow could claim to be Galactic City of Culture (certainly in this spiral arm of the Milky Way).
