A million options, but words fail us

WHO can now fairly exclaim "words fail me"? The English language is spoken by more than one billion people worldwide, and, according to linguistic experts, it is growing at the rate of a new word every 98 minutes. It will have its millionth word within the next 12 months.
The current word count is 995,844, though the vast majority of these seem to escape us in moments of rage when we need words most. The average person's vocabulary has been estimated at fewer than 14,000 words, though even this number seems to shrink ...
