A WOMAN was seriously ill in hospital today after being gunned down in an office block.
Police at Stewart Street CID are appealing for information following the attempted murder.

The 47 year old was found seriously injured at an office in New City Road, Glasgow where she was working as a financial advisor.

Following enquiries it w
as established that the woman had been injured with a gunshot wound, although this was not clear until she examined at hospital. She remains in hospital in a serious condition.

Officers are keen to speak to a man in connection with the incident. He is described as:

White, in his 40s with a medium build, unshaven with red / auburn stubble and a Scottish accent. He was wearing a brown bomber jacket and a baseball cap.

Detective Inspector John Mellon of Stewart Street CID said:

"Initially we were looking at the time of the incident as being around 1440 hours, however, as our investigation continues we are now aware that a more accurate time is 1400 hours".

"We believe that the injured woman was the intended victim and want to reassure the public that we are doing everything possible to trace the person responsible".

"As we said earlier, the area around New City Road and within the mall at Chinatown would have been busy with people and we are keen to speak to anyone who may be able to assist us with our enquiry".
