No mate. You're thinking of her head there!
A thick skin is fine. A thick head isn't.

"On trams she believes that once the route is up and running the traders currently griping about loss of business will find their fortunes turned around."
How does Jenny Dawe make that out?
The total cost to the city and its citizens of disruption caused by the tram scheme will at least match the construction costs.
Why didn't Gina Davidson ask Jenny Dawe whether she really believes money is better spent on a largely unwanted single tram line than on the schools she was so keen to close?
And to think that we have been lumbered with this hugely-expensive,
ill-conceived and totally unecessary scheme just because Labour wanted to spite the SNP, who recognised that there are many more important calls on public funds.

Yeah, when you trying to close 22 schools and taking away provisions for the old and the disabled, you need very thick skin. Especiallly if you want to sleep well at night dreaming of that fur lined robe you promised yourself. No Jenny we have not forgotten the things you have done and the ballot box will deliver your political fate in due course.

Real Resident of Edinburgh,

This article says it all really - as it says NOTHING of any substance!
Poor Gina Davidson has had to pad it out with a load of guff about Dawe's personal life and background - that's because there is NOTHING of any NEW significance happening in the city.
Okay, the trams are a big issue - but they were being built anyway. What this article clearly shows is that there has been NO REAL PROGRESS on any other significant projects.
All the Libs/Nats have managed to do in 12-months is leave a trail of worry and anxiety throughout the Education sector and the wider Voluntary sector.
We've got a weak, ineffectual Council Coalition in the Capital City of Scotland - and they've got another 4-years of underperformance to inflict on us before the 2012 local elections.

"As for new schools being built, she adds: "We're obviously still waiting to hear back from Holyrood on whether Wave Three (of the PPP school renewal scheme] will go ahead..."
That's odd.
Because the Scottish Government has repeatedly told them that there's no central fund available for the wave three schools and that they'll have to funded from the Council's existing capital allocation.
How many times will the Council need to be told this before they understand?

Deputy Dawe seems to have selective memory..but then whats new about that when you get to that age? Whilst she is moaning about how beastly senior council officers are to her because she is naive resulting in the Lib Dem shambles over schools closures, she is cosying up to Mark Turley and his cabal as if she is one of his officers! If she needs help with her speed reading im sure one of the schools she tried to close can help?

Betrayal!!!!!! yes we feel betrayed by you Dr Dawe and your shower of incompetents calling themselves the Lib Dems.
Why are you giving Mark Turley and his bunch of meglomaniacs so much support?.... should we check the CCTV footage in the council's carpark for evidence?
Start behaving like an elected representative rather than some inexperienced, petulent council official.
