CHERIE Blair has suspected swine flu and has pulled out of a series of public engagements while she battles the illness.
The wife of former prime minister Tony Blair has been given a course of the Tamiflu anti-viral drug and told to rest. The QC had been due to pick up an honorary degree at Liverpool's Hope University yesterday. She also cancelled a staff barbecue to ensure the virus was not passed on.

Mr Blair and the couple's children have not shown any signs of being infected.

Ironic really, for one of the nations most visible and prolific 'troughers' to become afflicted with swine flu.

appropriate, given how much time she spent with her snout in the trough...and she wasn't even an MP!

“Cherie battles with Swine Flu” this should not come as a surprise to anyone she has been at the trough so much in the past 20 years, it is really surprising that she has lasted this long.
This swine flu has already caught up with the political classes if the delightful Cherie Blair has been contaminated.
I wonder how long it will take for the rest of the trough feeders to get it now; with the forecast mortality rates being pondered we can just hope.

There could be quite a number of by-elections looming after the 83 days on holiday, not forgetting the slab’s copy and paste man at the Hootsman.

To be honest, I couldn't care less if this insufferable woman has the flu.

On the contrary, many will wish Cherie Blair a speedy recovery.

With a mouth her size I would take cover when she sneezes.

AS a PS......does she actually have the swine 'flu, or is it a yuppy fever? Maybe it's a publicity stunt just to get some sympathy/"good" press after the recent revelations about New Labour.

I don't want anything to happen to Cherie Blair, my politics don't run to that sort of guff, I will leave that to the unionists who posts kak dozens of times to make up for their limited numbers.

However, it isn't as big a story as why Labour have failed to call the date for the Glasgow North by election, something I believe a half decent Scottish press would headline above Cheri Blair.

JCA Reid: It doesn't say she was given the swine 'flu vaccine; it says that she was given Tamiflu.
