KENNY Richey yesterday denied stealing a handbag from a woman in a pub in Edinburgh.
Richey, 44, was arrested early yesterday in the Cowgate area after the bag was reported stolen on Thursday night.

It is claimed Richey and his co-accused, Ronald Mathieson, 43, stole the bag and its contents from the Artisan bar in Edinburgh's London Road.

At Edinburgh Sheriff Court yesterday, Richey pleaded not guilty to a charge of theft. A trial date was set for September. Mathieson, of South Queensferry, admitted theft. Sentence was deferred. Both were bailed.
