HARRY POTTER'S fate may finally have been revealed - but millions of fans around the globe still have burning questions about JK Rowling's wizarding world.
The epilogue of her final book only offers clues to what happens in the years after Harry's schooldays, so fans will be delighted to hear plans for an encyclopedia are under way.

In an exclusive interview with American television, Rowling confirmed she "probably will" publish more details about her beloved characters.

She said the encyclopedia would include background stories of characters she has already written but had to cut - such as Harry's school friend Dean Thomas.

She also said the book would include details of a new headmaster at Hogwarts, and who was teaching defence against the dark arts at the magical school.

"I'm not going to do it tomorrow because I'd really like a break," Rowling said, "so you may be waiting".

In the interview, Rowling said it felt "incredible" to have completed the series she began 17 years ago.

But she also revealed how she will miss being able to retreat into Harry's fictional world.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows became the fastest-selling book in history when it was released on Saturday.

More than 11 million copies were sold in the first 24 hours in the UK and United States.

Rowling said it was a "big sense of achievement" to bring the popular series to an end.

"I mean I am sad, but I think [I was] sadder immediately after finishing writing," she said.

"I felt devastated. For about a week I was hard to live with after finishing this book.

"I think the whole thing, it was this amazing cathartic moment, the end of 17 years' work, and that was just hard to deal with for about a week.

"It brought back a lot of memories of what had been going on in my life when I started writing."

The NBC interview took place at Edinburgh Castle yesterday morning, with film crews from the US network setting up from 6am.

The interview meant that some areas of the attraction had to be closed during filming.

During the recording, where 14 fans were also able to pose questions, Rowling openly discussed the plot of the latest book and the decisions she made on the fate of certain characters throughout the series.

She revealed why she could not bear to kill off one popular figure - originally earmarked to die in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix - but admitted some of the deaths in Deathly Hallows were hard to take.

Talking about the climax of the book, she said: "I didn't cry as I was writing, but when I finished writing, I had enormous explosion of emotion and I cried and cried.

"That was partly because of the content — and partly because it had been planned for so long and been roughed out for so long. And to write the definitive version felt like a huge climax."

Potter fans' night ruined as parked car smashed

A GROUP of Harry Potter fans found a suspected drink-driver had wrecked their car as they were queuing to buy the eagerly-awaited final novel.

Nurse Julie Ferrier and her son Jamie, eight, spent three-and-a-half hours queuing at Waterstone's on Princes Street to get Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

But when they returned to their car on Regent Road at about 1.30am, they found it had been written off in a smash. A driver had crashed into the Vauxhall Agila and shunted it along the road.

The accident ruined what was supposed to be a big night for the pair, who were with friends Linda Johnston and her 15-year-old daughter Amy.

Mrs Ferrier, 31, of Cockenzie, said: "Jamie was really upset by it all and I was just glad I was out with friends, as I think if it had just been the two of us I wouldn't have coped so well."

The driver of the other vehicle was taken to hospital with minor injuries and a blood sample was sent for testing.

I have never in my whole life felt so cheated, disappointed and angry with the ending of a book.

All that gossip of main characters dying, speculations fuelled by not only press but also JKR. And all that to see yet another happy hollywood crap ending!

There will be sequels, epilogs and milion other follow up books even though JKR said she most likely will not write another story about Harry.

I know for sure that I won't be buying it!

This was yet the worst book i have ever read. and considering these are the only series of books ive ever read thats bad. It was too fairytale. Harry should have died and left a child with jinny. Then professor snapes part would have been meaningful. Thru the whole story you made him bad. Then in the end, when we all knew t anyway, you show his good side. He should have been left to live and watch over harrys child. The final words in the book should have been a reminder of professor snapes words in the first book. As he looks at the child in his class, who is harrys son, he says "dont think because of who your father is that you will get any special treatment".

It may be that Ms. Rowlings writings are not original. In fact I am sure of it. When they first appeared they were as new and as fresh and as adventurous as one might expect from a spiritualist coming into contact with a very intelligent evil spirit for the first time and writing on dark subjects. Its quite possible that Ms. Rowlings writing habits include a "trance state" and a clear audible voice passing on knowledge which she subsequently writes down or a clairvoyant friend who does this contact for her on her behalf. This type of contact, man and demon with audible voice, is common practice for those who contact with satanic powers. The proof also lies in the fact that the Rowling writings encourage young children to get involved in witchcraft confirming an open door in her life into the dark world of fallen spirits. I dont mean to be offensive but I believe Ms. Rowlings works to be a fraud. I am a christian of some 24 years and I write much on the occult here in Australia.

It was a great book but you'd have to actually be fans of the entire series to have appreciated it. Obviously some of you were not.

Those of us who actually are fans enjoyed it very much. It was great to get to spend time with the all of J.K. Rowling's characters again. My only regret was having to read it quickly so that the media didn't screw up the ending for me. I wish I could have taken my time and savored every word. No problem though, I'm going to read it all over again and again. I'll enjoy it for years.

I was quite disappointed with the ending of this book. It was like -- ho hum, Voldemort is dead, Harry is alive, and oh, by the way, here we are now 19 years later.

It was almost as if she was just writing the ending to get it over with.

Everything past Harry walking to what he thought would be his death was lame.

Just my 2 cents.

14

Maia,

Sydney, Australia 26/07/2007 02:58:52

I totally agree with Graeme Gibson, also from Australia.I have thought this for some time, but never voiced my opinion to anyone about it. I saw a TV programme in which JK Rowling was on a train, describing how Harry Potter first became real to her .She descibed it as like "falling in love,' and as if the entire story more or less "came' to her, intact. She had nothing to write on and had to wait till she got home to write it down.her description of the "epiphany, "falling in love "feeling, was the same as Sai Baba and Raj Neesh devotees have talked about, a golden glow, a feeling of total euphoria. I think the entire Harry Potter series was probably dictated by a demon, or demons, probably a "walk in'. "Walk in spirits can take over your body, mind, emotions and personality. They can come and go at will, all they need is an open and willing door.We are living in the End Times, and the devil is very intelligent and very cunning. What he desires are the hearts and minds
of children. Once that door to the occult is opened, it is almost impossible to be free of occult influences. The first stage is depression, then opression,{feelings of impending doom, worthlessness, etc,}then comes full on possession .Of course not everyone becomes possessed, but these evil influences are very powerful, and can lead quite often to suicide at worst.I believe the whole Harry Potter is evil, and from the pit of hell itself. These ghastly images {like the face of Lord Voldemort, the death eaters, etc., imprint themselves on the unconscious minds of impressionable kids and teenagers, and even adults.God gave very clear instructions that we were to have 'nothing to do with the unfruitful works of darkness, and he commands us to get out of it and repent of our involvement with it.
The consequences for our involvement will be terrible indeed.

further to my comments, I recommend reading a book called "The beautiful face of Evil" by Johanna Michalson. Its a true account of her involvement with so called psychic healing in South America, how she became a christian, how the demons pursued her relentlessly, trying to kill her, and finally being delivered and set free from them. Its an amazing story, and shows that there is indeed a beautiful side to evil.

Graeme Gibson,

That was a brilliant letter Maia of Sydney. I couldnt have said it better myself. Absolutely brilliant description of Ms. Rowlings troubles. The thing that worries me with the youngsters is that if they open the door to demons, they then could easily get caught up with psychiastrists and psychiatric medication and become trapped in the psych system for years and years. Its enough to make me want to cry when I think of all of the misery satan puts on those who carelessly open the door. A good laying-on-of- hands and much prayer at a really lively pentcostal christian church is also a help for the trapped child. God bless you for your work Maia. Keep it up.

Thank you for your comments. I talk from experience, as I used to be a New Ager before I was saved and born again in 1978,However, it took me over 10 years to get totally set free from occult influences.
No doubt Ill get some online scoffers, I couldnt care less. I know that what you and I say is true. The tragedy is that many churches are all for Harry Potter, and even see him as a kind of King Arthur figure, battling the forces of darkness!

Graeme Gibson,

I would like to add something for reference regarding the Bibles endtimes before I pull my head in. My field is christian prophecies and visions. Ive been in this field since 1989 and have written hundreds of letters to editors on the subject of the invasion of Australia. There are innumerable visions and prophecies to truly, reliable christian folk here in Australia about an asian invader coming down from Australias north in the Bibles endtimes and taking over half the country for a number of years before being driven out (probably as far south as Byron Bay New South Wales). All of this appears to be Gods Allowance because of the sins of the Australian people...i.e. our abortion, pornography, homsexuality, greed and idolatry. Some of these revelations have had startling confirmations along with them. Not a single revelation that I have collected do I disbelieve. If you are a wise, you wont move permanently out to Australia. You might just one day end up in a rag-tag Aussie army with inferior home guard defences fighting for a third world defence department against a greater number of enemy soldiers.

The Deathly Hallows was great...who doesn't need abit of escapism every now and then...To Maia and Graeme-its not demons or devils that is causing problems in the world, its people who think that just because they fully belive and have faith in something (religion I suppose you would call it) that everyone else should too...Hmmm, heard of respecting other peoples views? Now I could go on about some of the crazy stuff you ranted on but suffice to say-its no wonder you didn't enjoy Harry Potter-people like you don't enjoy anything except hating the people not like you. It must be a much nicer place then the fun filled magical world Harry Potter allows...

22

Graeme Gibson,

Sydney Australia 26/07/2007 08:34:47

I believe if the English/Scottish press got involved in a deep investigation as to how J.K.Rowling got the concepts for her books...looked deep into her background...they would find that she has a witchcraft connection either direct or indirect through a clairvoyant or clairvoyant friends and that she got all her knowledge from a demon power. It wouldnt be all that difficult once responsible investigators begin a search for knowledge. She will either confess or she will hedge around with her words and try and distract from the questions. I think we will find one day that she works for satan through one of his evil spirit powers. And made hundreds of millions of pounds by drawing young children into the witchcraft fold. It is alleged that there are police statistics in the UK and the US showing that the number of people who disappear after local witchcraft and pagan festivals is on the increase? Harry Potter is witchcraft as dark as it comes when we look deep into it.

23

Andy Roid,

What a load of dribble your speaking listen to yourself "demons, witchcraft" all of which made up by the church centuries ago to keep the sheep inline, with fear and mis-direction. Why can't you make your mind up for yourself rather than spouting a bunch religous excuses, take the book for what it is a great FICTIONAL series of books that allows the reader to escape into a world of magical and mystical creatures and adventures of a character that grows from a child to a young man. Triumph over adversity. As for JKR's background into witchcraft so what if you look for anything hard enough you'll find something.

Anyway aside the 'lackluster' ending I'm glad to have read the series and I'm sure children in the future will enjoy this book in years to come!

Just for you nuts out there I have no religous views ethier way I believe all religous are wrong and right!

24

Graeme Gibson,

Ah, Andy Roid of England. Youre a babe in the woods when it comes to understanding the occult. Read about the great war in the spirit realm in Ephesian 6:12-18. A bit of Jesus in your life will also enlighten you as to what witches and warlocks really get up too. You need to give your life to Jesus (get saved) and become born again then you have the right to speak about Light and darkness. Rowling needs to be investigated for corrupting youth against God and decency.

Graeme and Maia, you make a lovely pair. Keep going, you have me in stitches. Go on, tell me about how you came to accept Jesus as your personal saviour, and how he showed you that JK Rowling was the devil incarnate.

Ah, lovely.

"babe in the woods" No not likely, quoting literature i'll never read is totally irrelevent. The fact you believe that real "Witches and Warlocks" exist means your a

1. Escaped Mental patient that found a bible and that needs to put the straight jacket back on and take your medication.
2. A total religous nut that believes whatever a contridicing book tells you to believe.
3. A Dan Brown Fan.

I don't need to be born again, I see the "light" whenever I turn the light switch on!

Anyway why has this become a religous thing jees its just a book and a great author!

Graeme Gibson there is no such thing as the boogie man (unless you count John Travolta), so just deal with it.

would anyone suggest that the ‘The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe’ was a danger to the mental well-being of the reader or for that matter any of the wonderful ‘The Chronicles of Narnia.’ by the great CHRISTIAN academic CS Lewis

everything in its place please - i think there is more to concern ourselves with in the real world - e.g. those cowards who would use young children to fight their causes - than the escapism provided by Harry Potter..... not that I have had time to read any of the books, but the films are fun

It seems even those who are Harry Potter fans have had enough! I agree so much with those Christians who posted here, evil is insiduous it creeps in where we dont see it and books like this can open the door to evil, I heard there has been an increase in interest in witchcraft and the occult even that someone wants to open a school just like Hogwarts! Hmm, just think about it!

I have read all the Potter books; seen all the films, to date, and yet, found the last one a total disconnect with the original series. I've said it before. I think Ms. Rowling finished the last one not as she intended...but rather wrote about the things that popped into her head. I feel cheated, from all the years of being a follower, and that last bit, "Nineteen years later" was an add-on at the last minute. Who cares about the other fluff in the book? There were so many red herrings, I could smell fish. I'm not "sour grapes-ing" Ms. Rowling but feel she should have given us a better book. (And by the way, I have never thought it was written FOR CHILDREN). Hollywood made them that way.

32

Jumpinjackflashman,

If you are interested in finding evil, it is not that insidious, and you don't have to read it into the Harry Potter series. Just look around and you will see powerful people enslaving and exploiting their weaker fellow creatures. You will see armies killing tens of thousands, often justified as having been done for the glory of God. Why pick on J. K. Rowling and Harry Potter as evil when you have the real thing in spades all around--people like Robert Mugabe, Osama Bin Laden, George Bush? Give me a break.

33

Maia,

Sydney 26/07/2007 23:11:38

Dear AndyRoid, Demons are real, alright! Think of the poor person in Gadara, mentioned in the Bible. He was so strong, he broke every chain they tried to bind him with. When jesus addressed the leader demon and asked how many were in him, he replied,"we are legion" Im not sure how many men were in a roman legion, but there must have been hundreds! jesus commanded them to enter a herd of pigs, who stampeded off a cliff, and were drowned. The previous demoniac then sat at Jesus feet," calm and of a sound mind." Demons are fallen angels,-when lucifer rebelled against God, a quarter of the angels in heaven chose to fall with him to earth, and they have been here ever since. You cant see electricity, but if you touch a live wire, you will feel it! God commands us to leave these evil things alone, and not be asociated with them. When JK Rowling says the books get "darker" she means "more evil" .You open a Pandoras box if you mess with the dark side. satan is very cunning and far more intelligent than hes given credit for. His greatest trick is to convince people he doesnt exist! These books may not in themselves be evil, but they open a psychic door into the unseen world of the occult. believe me, its much easie to get in than to get out! Not only books like harry Potter, but so called music like Black sabbath, the sex pistols, guns and roses, Marilyn Manson, etc. all expose young minds and emotions to evil.If someone offered you a delicious drink, red wine in a crystal goblet, which tasted and smelled delicious but was deadly poison, thinking that it was harmless would not help, it would still kill you.satan wants the minds of young people. They are much easier to manipulate when he has them where he wants them.

34

you know who,

loo 27/07/2007 01:22:11

i cannot relate to anyone who wasnt completely satisfied with this book. all the people saying it was hollywood crap, all the people complaining about wichcraft, all you haters....
i doubt you read the books. or else you did, but told yourself to hate it so you could be different and aloof, glaring down at all the "ignorant" and seemingly inferior people who read the freaking books and loved them for what they were--- fun, entertaining and well written.

well get off your high horse.

35

Graeme Gibson,

Sydney Australia 27/07/2007 02:57:46

So how does someone like Ms. Rowling get her knowledge to write such fantastic books as the Harry Potter series... to be so incredibly successful? This is how it works. Pay attention and learn. First the demon power seeks the susceptible victim for the task it wants. The victim is chosen carefully. It approaches the victim and communicates to the victim, in this case the potential author. The victim hears the spirit and what it says, in whatever form the communication comes, and agrees or disagrees with what the spirit presents. What the spirit communicates is very clear and is not misunderstood by the victim. In the case in question, the author agrees and the deal is established. Then comes the revelation or the vision from the evil spirit and so it all commences. The author gets the money from the sale of the "demon given concepts" and satan gets an authority and access into this world over the children drawn in by the witchcraft practices because practicing those practices is turning away from God and Jesus His Saviour for men. Satan can now use his evil spirits to encourage the youngsters to open doors through that witchcraft and gain the attack upon their souls. All of this is OLD HAT! Its been going on since the great spiritual war on earth began (*read Ephesians 6:12-18). Thousands of witches and warlocks and pagans have done the deal with an evil spirit and suffered because of it. Ms. Rowling needs to publically repent of her "spirit fellowships" before The Lord steps in. I pray she does it well before then. There is a whole world of youngsters on the edge of selling theselves out to the devil by Ms. Rolwings witchrcaft. God bless them and protect from the dark world of REAL demons! Ms. Rowling would have been absolutely clear of what she was doing at the time; and may have a long history of communication with fallen powers.

36

Maia,

Sydney 27/07/2007 04:00:16

Graeme, I dont necesseraly think that JK Rowling KNEW she was selling out{or being bought by!} the dark forces. She may genuinely believe that she is divinely inspired, and that all the ideas just "came" to her by divine inspiration. She may well, however, be psychically linked to the dark powers thru an ancestor, possibly unknown to her, who was psychic,
a tarot reader, a witch or warlock, or even a mason, Masonry carries a curse to 4 generations.{Read Derek Princes very good expose on Masonry}. She may truly believe that her work is harmless, and be proud of the fact she has got so many kids to read. Its great that kids are reading, but at what cost,- their souls? Some of the trendy churches need to wisen up and stop supporting Harry Potter books. Ignorance, is no excuse however.Their is such a thing as imprinting, where young minds are literally "branded" and their psychological skin "burnt" by exposure to evil, ugly horrific images, such as Voldemorts face .

37

Ennis,

Melbourne, Victoria 27/07/2007 04:43:21

wow...you guys just keep giving and giving with the entertainment value...priceless...thank you.
May I just ask Graeme, what do you think of the power of the mind? When you ask where JK gets her knowledge to write such fantastic books, it sounds to me like you believe that the infinte possiblities for imagination and creativity, enabled by the complex organism of the brain, is actually controlled by the devil...hmmm...is that so for all people who excell in particular areas? Her books are successful because they are FANTASTIC...she wrote them using HER imagination...so as a happy coincidence she made a packet of money...while the lucky few are able to do jobs they like, even fewer make lots of money doing what they like...but at the end of the day, we all work to make money to enjoy whatever lifestyle we want...do you work? Are you good at your job? Do you work for money? Does the devil make you good at your job so you can make money (abeit less the JK)? Anyway...respect-you and Maia have some trippy views-more power to you...but I can assure you that souls arn't being lost because of a storybook and I'm delighted that there arn't more people in your camp.

PS Perhaps you could do one of those tests to see if JK was a witch-the ol' throw her in a lake and if she floats she's a witch trick...full proof I hear.

38

Graeme Gibson,

Sydney Australia 27/07/2007 06:57:25

Yes, I concede a point Maia. It is possible that Ms.Rowling was entirley deceived. The voice and works of satan have been misconstrued as the voice of God and works of God many times in many lives. In my police years I knew of a man who jumped off a 44 storey building in dowtown Sydney because the so-called "voice of god" told him to. It would really depend on what JK knew herself personally...i.e. whether she had been brought up in a witchcraft household and knew it and had engaged in practices unscriptural willingly, or as you said, maybe there were curses coming down the family line (Masonic/witchcraft curses...they are much the same) that allowed a door to remain open so one of satan spirits could speak to her at sometime in her future years prior to Potter. Ms. Rowlings family and/or secret knowledge mainly remains Ms. Rowlings family knowledge and/or secret knowledge to this day. Not much is really known about her apart from her recent Potter works. I do think though, and I wont budge in this, there comes a time in personal works of men and women, as they connect to the spirit realm, one way or other, that one knows exactly who one is working for. For Ms. Rowling to suggest that the wands and the witchcraft practices and the Voldemort face and all of the other horrors more foul with each film etc are works of God is too much for anyone to swallow. For a longtime she has known EXACTLY who she has been working for. Yet she continues on. J.K.Rolwing today, needs to come under the Blood of Jesus Christ to get her protection from those she has been dancing with in the spirit realm... and in the flesh. Jesus save her soon. Thank you Lord.

Got quite a laugh reading some of those remarks about devils and you name it. I can see that you haven't read the last book or the bible. Because there's a part in the book that says Jesus sacrifising himself so that everyone on earth can live in piece all over it. Harry sacrifises himself so that his friends and loved ones can't be touched by Voldemort. I must say. So don't come here and say that the book lead people into witchcraft and what else there is. I'm a God loving person and I love the books, the imagination. It really is how we all live our lives just with a touch of magic.

Dear Suzie from Denmark, yes, jesus did sacrifice Himself, but not for everyone. Only those who invite Him into their heart will he accept. There will and have always been scoffers, jesus met them too. I was one myself, prior to 1978 when I was born again and met jesus. Before then, I was a new Ager, into meditation, astrology, Sai baba, channelling, psychic painting, aura reading,Edgar cayce, colour healing, kundalini, etc. I never did black magic, but white or black, its all the same all bad. I didnt even LIKE christians, I thought they were narrow minded bigots{some still are!]At this stage on planet earth, we cant sit on the fence. We are either for Jesus, and the forces of Light, or we are on the devils side. Oh, I didnt used to even believe in the devil, but I do now! If theres a heaven there has to be a hell, and if there is god and jesus, there has to be an opposite force of evil, the devil. Yes, I still have lots of questions, but at least now Im on the right side! I had to repent of my involvement with new Age,and ask gods forgiveness for it. Ignorance is no excuse. Only about 2 % of New Agers ever get saved, and of these, one % go back to New Age and the occult within a year. What drives them back into the welcoming arms of new Agers again? Cruel, judgemental christians, thats who!
When I gave my life to jesus, I joined a church, a Pentecostal one.
When I told them Id been a former new Ager, I was shunned. I was subjected to 3rd degree type questioning, forbidden to speak or prophesy for 2 years, told to sit at the back by myself , and when I once had a genuine prophesy, I was literally dragged back to my seat by thi s so-called "elder". That day I was given a lift home, and the woman screamed at me as I got out of her car, "Your prophesies are all from the devil!! her kids in the back seat screamed too! I left that church, very upset and wounded. So you see, I have suffered for becoming a christian, life was in many ways easier
