THE churches in Scotland are “going to hell in a handbasket” as the old saying goes. The stem cell issue raised a very important fact by default last week. Suddenly, advancing scientific technology was held over a barrel by the Church.
Politics suddenly became religious.
Politics and religion should remain separate. Politicians represent constituents of all races, religions and creeds. Their policies should reflect that, not their ability to appease their own chosen God.
